Hey there Mr Nagel, I am a diggin the custom wood grained bumper on the blue 69. Most creative!
-
I would prefer that bumper had a walnut stain on it. It would go better with the dark blue..... :drunken_smilie:

I would expected to have seen that as a factory option on a Ford. :overthetop:

Hey! Some of us like Fords!
I have 3.... a pair of '67 Fairlanes and even a '91 F-150 4x4 'Nite' I bought new. Ted has a couple of the new Fords too.
I would say pick on the Mopars, but I recently bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, so that's kinda a Mopar, or is it? I'm rebuilding the 4.0 inline six into a 4.6 stroker. :glasses9:
I'd actually like to see some of the 'other' cars you guys have.... Mark has some cool old Chevs and I hear Chris has some sort of wanna-be -gini... errr, a Fiero-gini!
Let's see um!

Hey now... it's official.. we only pick on Walt's 66 Gran Sports! :boxing:
I pick on Ford all the time because my wife works for them. Sitting in my drive right now are two new Taurus's (seriously.. what an awesome car) and a newer F150.
I agree that it's probably safer to pick on any new Mopar since they are all Fiat's now anyhow (along the same lines as my Fiero-ghini). :icon_biggrin:
Chris
P.S. - You've got to admit that it's at least a cool looking car, I just need to finish it now and move onto to something else... damn mid life crisis!
-
What is a midlife crisis? I can't even remember midlife! (smiley here with grey hair)
I do own two Fords, a 1972 F-250 and my wife drives a Taurus. I am not brand loyal, I buy whatever I think is best for my purpose at that time. I am just emotionally attached to 65 Skylark GS's. It's not the best car ever made, just brings back memories of the late sixties...... Hum, maybe I am having a late life crisis.

That bumper has been an option on all the cars I have painted by Al Furnish.
Yes, he IS a Ford Man! I feel like I'm turning into one- 2008 F150, 2010 GT, 2012 Fusion Sport which is PF Cool, fast.

Oh man.. have you seen pictures of the new Fusion.. OH BABY!

Yes- but they are doing away with the V6 that motivates my car so well!

Those are two very nice looking cars!!!

That's an awesome pair, Ted. Looks like the red/black convertible combo is a time-tested favorite.
Seeing a lot of talk about Fords in the previous posts in this thread, I also have one Ford in my stable; the first "classic" that I built. The config is in my signature and a picture below. I thought building a "kit" would be easier than rebuilding an old car, but in this case, a kit was no where near "insert Tab A into Slot B". Then, when I retired, I figured it would be fun to work on an old car. Found my first 65 GS, bought it, and now have two. And a 65 Skylark parts car will join in a couple of days.
Historically, I never owned a GM car. My dad was an American Motors fan, and my first new car, just out of college, was a 1972 Gremlin X. Wish I still had it! I've driven lots of Fords and Chryslers over the years. My daily driver is a 2011 Dodge Durango and it has been a great car; my favorite of all the previous ones including a Volvo XC90 that I owned for five years.
I love my 65 GS's, but there's lots to like about the other brands as well!
Cheers!
Chuck

The non-Buick contenders and one mean unfinished Buick.

Nice cars guys!

This car replaced my last 65 GS. It's a Legend Lime 2005 Mustang GT with a 5 speed manual. All original, never winter driven, and currently has just 44,000 kms, or 27,000 miles from new.

Wow, the Cobra looks exactly like the one I totalled. Bad day, that. That is when I realized that I had the curse of the silver ford. I've had 4 silver Fords, all cursed! Now I have Tuxedo Black and grabber blue.

Ted,
Was yours a 10th Anniversary edition like mine? There were only a 1000 of those in convertible. I am not a big fan of silver, but the local dealer only had this one Cobra left in September of 03. The test drive reminded me of a 455 powered 67 GS i had in the past. The silver did grow on me after a while. Here is how the engine bay has turned out:

All the cars look very good. Wish I was making better progress on my restoration. Speaking of Fords, look at what I just bought today. Going to be my wood hauler/snow plow truck.

Yep, SVT 10th anniversary model, had red inserts in the seats. Really sharp. Me not so much the night I wrecked it! I punished myself for the next 4 years by dating an English woman. :argue:

You can still work all the pedals in your other cars. So, it must have done its ultimate job. I have learned some vivid lessons of respect that were real close as the power has increased. I don't drive it now when I am off even a little bit, and won't go near it when I am angry. It doesn't need any more angry!

Dear Ted and mid-60s Buick fans of fast mail!
put a mailbox on the Wagon for a SP intake on the 455 :)
So exactly how to the mailman put mail into that box! :laughing7:
I also have schemes for getting some fresh air from above the hood for my trusty wagon, but those projects will have to wait for her to regain her health once more.
Cheers, Edouard

Dear Ted, Chris, Loren, and fans of 1965 Buick longroofs,
Not the correct side shot, but this was looking pretty cool.
Of course my favorite is Seafoam green, but I glad admit that your wagon is really cool in red! :glasses9:
Cheers, Edouard :occasion14:

Bored and wishing I could cruise...

Found a picture of Brian's car @ Charlotte!

Hmmm, warmth... right now there is much salt on the roads, can not even think about driving anything but the DD F150
-
I agree, the wagon looks great, love the wheels on there too!

Dear Ted, Jim, and mid-60s Buick owners who like to cruise,
Bored and wishing I could cruise...
Your problem is that you don't live in California. We are at the end of December and we've only gotten 0.13" of rain. Normally we are supposed to get 3.54" of rain! The newspaper still insists we aren't in a drought, but . . . . I certainly have my doubts! (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/desert-smiley.gif)
Sorry I can't post any photos of my trusty wagon but still no news from TA-Performance.
Oh well, . . . . Edouard (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/pout.gif)

I posted this in another thread, but this seems more appropriate....
I brought my '91 F-150 Nite out of semi-retirement to bring home this '66 GS 3 speed stick convertible!
The new purchase is presently wrapped up in a Harbor Freight cocoon (blue tarps) until I can get to it.
