I can't get my 225 to run decently (or at all sometimes) at low RPM. I've changed the carb (1bbl), coil, plugs, and wires, and made sure initial timing (advance disconnected) was correct. It sounds lovely at high idle, and once under way and over about 30 MPH it's fine. I still have a pertronix to put in. Could it be something in the distributer (points, advance) that is causing my low-only RPM woes?
Thanks,
Rick

Rick,
With the Pertronix, you have eliminated the points. On some other forums , I have read of others having the same issue.
Maybe removing the Pertronix and reinstalling the points would be a test to see if that is the issue. It would eliminate that being the culprit.
Another issue could be a plugged idle circuit in the carburetor.

Just saw your other post.
Is it possible that the harmonic balancer has slipped? I had that happen on a 225. I hate to say how many hours and dollars I spent before I figured it out.
