X2 on those prayers for Loren,John. We all know how much fun it is to be laid up with things that need to get done. Hopefully things work out smoothly,I know a few people that have been very happy with the results.

After a long day at the doctors office he told us that everything is looking good so far.  In 48 hours Loren will be able to be upright for the full day (he can hardly wait for that).  We were told that everything is healing on schedule.  He still can't see anything out of the left eye but that is to be expected.  Vision should start to come back in 3 - 4 weeks.  He still has lots of eye drops and is not allowed to lift anything 20 pounds or more for at least a month.  Thank you to everyone for all their prayers and support.

Amen to that...sight is a gift that we can't replace. Hopefully all is going well because no one else is fit to lead such a unruly band of misfits. My friends are asking "why not just restore the chevelle?" Some people just don't conform well. Chevelle? Really.....Nobody ever saw one of those restored.....might as well do a 69 Camaro while you're at it. God speed Loren....there are too many Mopars and Chevys out there to count.

Amen and amen.  We are truly the misfits because we own and are fans of the most rare 65 muscle cars that GM made.  And yet, the Chevelles are more popular and valuable.  I don't get it, but at least that makes us all very special!   :occasion14:

Heal well Loren!

Just a little update for you all,

I had my 3 week follow up yesterday. Things seem to be on the mend and restrictions have been lifted with one hold out in that I still stay off my back.  I can drive finally, but my depth perception is still a little off.
The gas bubble continues to dissipate, it is getting smaller and is now at approximately 20 - 30 percent. I am able to spend more time at reading. As some of you may have noticed, I have been posting a bit more again. lol

Another follow up next week and many thanks to everyone for well wishes,

 Loren

Since his depth perception is off if he does manage to steal the keys and is driving you may want to steer clear of him.  :hello2: :laughing7: :glasses9:

Dear Loren, Tom, Roxy, Dan, Jim, and mid-60s Buick owners who need to take care of themselves!

I had my 3 week follow up yesterday. Things seem to be on the mend and restrictions have been lifted with one hold out in that I still stay off my back.  I can drive finally, but my depth perception is still a little off.

Glad to hear it!  :hello2:  I was curious to know how the recovery was going.

Since his depth perception is off if he does manage to steal the keys and is driving you may want to steer clear of him.

Well yeah, but these days everybody seems to drive as if their depth perception is off . . . . at least in California! . .  :icon_scratch:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Another doctor visit this last Monday and follow up again in 2 weeks.  Progress is slow.  Doctor is still cautiously optimistic that all sight will be restored.  Looks like he will have to have glasses though.  :glasses9:  Was hoping to get by without them after the cataract surgery, but isn't going to happen.   :BangHead:  Hope to see many of you at the spring get together in a few weeks.   :sunny:

Dear Roxy, Loren, and caregivers of more than mid-60s Buicks,

Another doctor visit this last Monday and follow up again in 2 weeks.  Progress is slow.  Doctor is still cautiously optimistic that all sight will be restored.  Looks like he will have to have glasses though.  :glasses9:  Was hoping to get by without them after the cataract surgery, but isn't going to happen.   :BangHead:

Sorry to hear that progress isn't as fast as hoped.  Still I hope Loren's vision will be back to normal even if he has to wear glasses.  He isn't alone on that score!  :glasses9:

Cheers, Edouard
