Now that I have purchased my 350, I need to know if there are headers that will fit w/o mods. Anybody have experience with this? Will the '68-up ones work?

Rick, is Headers by Ed still in the Twin Cities? They can make them for anything.

I'll see, but custom made sounds expensive. TA Performance starts at $450. Haven't looked at Jeg's or anything until I can find out what fits off the rack. Thanks for the info!

I just looked and they don't list any of their 350 headers as fitting in a 1965 Buick. They only list for 1968 and later. Still, the best way to find out is to give them a call and ask. The number is:

A couple of years ago, I checked with Kook's Headers about a custom set of headers for my 65 Skylark with 300 ci engine. They said it would be around $ 2,200. I was lucky enough to find an old set from Poston's, and then had Brian Stone rework the driver's side to clear the clutch z-bar. He had already done it to 2 sets, so knew exactly what to do.

The 340 and 300 headers worked in the 64-67 A-bodies, but will no fit a 350. The 350 has different positioning of the exhaust ports compared to the 300/340.
The A-body frame changed in 68 when the 350 came out for the first year. The 350 headers are all for the later frame and need major reconstruction to fit the earlier 64-67 frame. Your best bet would be to use the exhaust manifolds that came with the 350.

I ended up using the cast iron manifolds. In a post over on V8 Buick we had a discussion regarding manifolds vs headers power gain.
Conclusion for me was that none of my engines would need headers for the power they make.
