Post by: 35chevcoupe on March 11, 2017, 03:37:43 PM
Just want to make sure , is the front park brake cable suppose to have a piece of rubber fuel line on it where it comes out of the frame ?
My repro does not .

Mine didn't.  But yours almost looks like the hose had to be slid on the cable before they terminated the ends.  Interesting mystery!

Sorry Chuck ,
I should have taken another photo , it is split on the other side . Just was,t sure if it was on there for a reason or if someone put it on there to stop a squeek or rattle .

John,

Never seen a rubber part like that on a factory front cable.

I have a reproduction, of a front cable, that has a plastic sleeve on it, in that area, but all original ones I have seen do not have it. From what I can determine 64/72 Skylark with 300/350 trans have the same front cable.
