Title: Correct Acorn Lug Nuts
Post by: cwmcobra on January 15, 2018, 06:37:59 AM
Any good replacement acorn lug nuts out there?  I know Mitch Romanowski offers some that are not quite right.  I recall a thread a couple of years ago on a project to make stainless reproductions, but I'm not aware that it got off the ground.

Thanks for the inputs!

Chuck

Jon Thompson did make up a few sets in stainless steel. They were very nice. Who knows, someone may have a set they would be willing to part with.

The ones offered by CARS are close. Even the Mr Gasket acorn nuts are similar to stock.
You choice depends on how 'correct' you want and your budget.

Could look into doing these again ! I know it has been 2 years since I last had done this ! I was unable to do them because of the cost and I  was knee deep in Doctor bills!

I would do a small run of these ,have two sets sold so would like see if there is interest still from 7 or 8 people! Best price as the machine shop had kept the drawings and cutting programs is $215 before shipping and not polished! :headbang:

Fusick Cutlass catalog #53C page 39 shows "new reproduction" of acorn lug nuts # WN713 set of 20 for $100.00. Did anyone look at these, and are they correct for the GS?

I want to say these are 3/4 hex ?, not the 13/16 that the originals are! They are a nice repo though!
I would check with Fusick and see what size hex they are! They could be used, but be mindful of the cone
on the lug as they will wreck the nut seats on the wheel if not right!
