Title: Paint Booth Is Open
Post by: Chris on January 07, 2009, 06:50:04 PM
I just finished the code for the 65 GS Paint Booth page.

Please give it a test drive and tell me what you think?

http://65gs.com/Colors/colorstart.htm

I have a whole new section I'm working on that will cover VIN tag break downs and interior / exterior color options.  The Paint Booth page will be part of the exterior color section.

That was fun.  But how do I change the interior and top color? lol

Is there any way to change the top and interior colors?  That would be really cool if you could play with all of them.  I always wondered what Flame Red car would look like with a white vinyl top on it

Ok guys.. I asked for it...    ;D

I'm actually one step ahead of you and have thought about how I can do this in Flash, but it'll take some time as I'll need to alter the art for the different color tops (soft and hard) and add the appropriate style trim.

I'd also like to add some other wheel options for the newer style of wheels so guests can see what the different styles and sizes look like on our cars.

It would also be really cool to include the other two styles of bodies.

This should be done in Flash since the combinations could be endless and it would treat each of the parts as a unique item.

Thanks for the comments and I'm really glad to see you guys enjoying it.  More cool stuff to come!

Chris

I like this section. Give me an idea of what my car is supposed to look like, except I need a white top. ;D

Tom,

What is the color of your car?

Soft or Painted top?

Coupe, Post or Convertible?

Chris, my car was born as a coupe, with a Midnight Aqua Poly body, Arctic White painted top, and white interior.

Currently, it appears to be very close to Sahara Mist Poly, with a black vinyl top. My future plans are to return it to as born, hopefully in 2010 or 2011. Just trying to save up some dineros to make that happen.

Tom,

The original combo sounds like a sweet mix.  My father-in -law had a '65 Skylark thin pillar coupe that was the Midnight Aqua with a black interior. We finished it with a silver in the halo section.

I can imagine how good the original combo will look and unique as well.

Keep us posted

Talk about interesting paint combinations, you need to post a photo of your GS hardtop.

Loren,

I have a photo of your GS from the Regional meet.  You want me to post it for you?  I think others would enjoy the uniqueness.

Guys,

Here's a photo of Loren's GS at the 2008 BCA Heartland Regional Meet.  I'll let him describe the unique color combination for himself.  His GS also has the dual quad set up.  When I first saw his car in 1992 and saw that set up, I was hooked.  I had to have that engine eye candy on my convertible also.  You did corrupt me. Thanks.

Can a program like Photoshop change the color on a modern photograph?

Walt,

With some time and a lot of patience, yes.   8)

In the newer versions of Adobe there is a replace color tool that allows you to use a color picker and select multiple colors within a picture.  Once selected, you then simply alter the color with a RGB slide rule until you get it where you want it.

Sounds easy right?

It takes time and patience as you select all the color that you want to convert and then you must go over the picture and clean it up.  I usually take any sharp detailed areas that I want left alone and create layers from these that can be left untouched then placed on the altered picture since your original will usualy lose detail when altering it.

I have a white car,  black top,  white interior so I can my car exactly as it looks.
If you can offer optional wheels, chrome and wire spinner hupcaps that would be great.
I look foward  to your tag id info.
Thanks for your work.
