Title: Converting to front disc brakes on my 65 Skylark.
Post by: dlmwtvl on January 01, 2017, 10:47:59 AM
I would like to gather the parts necessary to convert my 65 Skylark to front disc brakes.
I am told that any 68 to 72 GM A-body will have the parts I need.
I would like to use OE parts. The aftermarket may or not fit with the Buick 14" mag wheels.
Is this correct, and, does anyone have these parts that they would like to sell?
I assume the spindle, backing plate, rotor, caliper, and brake hose, for each side, would do it.
I already have the booster. I will get the proper master cyl. as well.
Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
David

Wow, nice looking car David!!

The later disk brakes and most of the kits won't fit the '65-66 14" wheels. Unsure if they will work with the 14" Buick mags from the later 70's-80's cars, but I think they will.
Scarebird.com   offers brackets to use production parts that WILL fit the early 14" wheels.  I believe they are now avail from other vendors that used (stole?) his design.
