Hi all,
Someone posted these pictures on V8, trying to get info about the car, and figured everyone might get a kick out of the pictures, as first straight axle Gran Sport I've seen

Hi,
I see you have a different userid on V8, so have you found out anything more about the car?
Neat looking car, wonder if its still around, maybe stuck in a old barn waiting to be restored
Also welcome aboard, I was going to respond to your other post just don't log on here as much as I should.
Regards,

By the text on the fender it looks to have a VIN 430 and it was from Sacramento

The only thing I know about is that it?s cool! Would be fun to look at.

That thing is cool looking . It reminds me of the art work on the shirts we had made up , just needs to have a blown nailhead in it .
Once my restoration is done that i,m working on now i,d love to build one like that .
NOSTALGIA 65 GS GASSER !!! :rocker:

X2 on shirts!
The only thing I don't like about the car is how the front wheels don't line up with the wheel wells. How could that be fixed?

Hey Jim, hope your having a great day. I chose Psalm65 for my name because that's what I'm going to name my Skylark. When I joined v8buick I was in the process of buying a 64 Riviera with a 425 Nailhead but I didn't go through, but I rather have a 65 Skylark so it's all good. I'm going to start a thread on the Hamb to get more info, I think I'll get more hits there. Thanks for the welcome Brother.

Actually it might be a good idea since theres quite a few new members . It would be great if we could get t-shirts , sweat shirts and hoodies .

Does anyone know if they ever made a one piece fiberglass front end for a 65 skylark ?
Also its hard to tell by the photos but if I were to guess it looks like it has a ford 9 inch rear end in it .

Dear Ronnie, Dan, John, and mid-60s Buick owners with an eye to color,
Word on the street is they’re fresh out of dark green shirts, sweats and hoodies.
(http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/wink_smile_triangle.gif) . . . . Dark green !?!???? Don't you mean Verde Green or at least Seafoam Green? . . . . . . (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/Laughing_LOL.gif)

Lol.
New
I got some info from someone he said "Here's what I found. It was an A/FX based on a 1965 Skylark coupe built by Dick?s Speed Center of Yreka, California. The rear axle and wheel openings moved forward a foot. The front fenders were unmodified but the stock coil-spring independent front suspension was replaced by a straight axle and leaf springs and pushed forward several inches and lifted 6". Your photo must be an older photo because it was mentioned it had a Hilborn-injected Nailhead with ram tubes sticking out of a Ford Thunderbolt hood blister. "

Well, I found the above comments about the A/FX GS in a Google search. There are a bunch of other Buick tidbits of interest. Take a look:

This car is major cool! Would be so neat to have it now and take it to the nostalgia drags! I have been going to the nostalgia melt down drags at Byron IL for the last 3 ! Which has been open since 1964! Two of my friends where there for the very first opening drags and they use to run 4 cars at once! Never seen a glass front end for a 65!? I think glasstek or one of the vendors made hoods, deck lids, bumpers in the 90's for our 65's! There was a 67 GS fiberglass bodied funny car with a blown hemi? back in the day! Only have seen a few pictures of it!
