Title: 66 Special with a 4 speed?
Post by: jmos4 on March 02, 2012, 12:22:42 PM
Hi all,

Saw this:

 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/S-MATCHING-4SPD-VERY-ORIGINAL-CAR-W-DOCS-/280835058765?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item416312ec4d (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/S-MATCHING-4SPD-VERY-ORIGINAL-CAR-W-DOCS-/280835058765?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item416312ec4d)

Thought they did not offer a 4 speed with a 300?

Jim. To the best of my knowledge you had to get a GS after 65 to get a 4 speed.

Correct.....4 speed only available on the 401 GS, not the small-block 300/340 cars.
A manual 3 speed was available on the 300, but it was a column shift.
I don't believe there was a 4 speed small-block in 1967 either! Too bad.... it's a nice combo.
