Post by: GS-66 on March 24, 2017, 06:21:37 PM
Picked up my 66 GS from Spring Jefferson, WI 17 years ago, been tweak'n it ever since.  Made great memories with my 3 boy's on our 9 Hot Rod Power Tours.

Solid looking 66 there! I see headers lurking beneath.  What "tweak'n" has been done to it?

Here's a shot of Mike's car from one of the Power Tours. Mike's brother has a 64 Skylark convertible too.

I'll work on more pics. Tweaks, after the super turbine puked on power tour in KY and trailering for final day in Bristol she got a 700R4 with 2800 Stahl - what a difference. TA performance headers jet hot coated with Summit American Thunder exhaust with Flowmaster 30 series with Edlebrock 650 on top. By the way confirmed by engine stamping this is the high output 340hp 401. New interior, big block springs, disc brakes up front, 15 inch ralley Buick rims with thin bird centers. Oh yeah, axle bearings - hard to find. Nothing crazy, little tweaks. Still have all original parts.

Wow, those are hard to find! Should have the spread-bore Q-jet manifold on it tho. Is it a MU or MS code stamped on there?
Is it painted in the original red or a darker metallic? Hard to tell from the pics.

My blue 66 GS has some mods too....425 with Kustom headers, st 400 trans, and a 12 bolt rear. Finally swapped out the 4.11 gears for some 3.42's last summer.

Not sure on the manifold, I'll have to check when I get her out of storage, I checked those codes a long time ago but I remember being excited at what I found :).  The paint is not original, called Wild Strawberry.  The rears been rebuilt with Richmond 3.73 gears.
