Hard starting after setting several days, suspect fuel bowl boil out after driving. The best solution or solutions to help? On a 65 GS Skylark 401.

Has carb had a kit in it recently!? Want to make sure the the accelerator pump is in good shape ,bowls are clean and floats are set right! Although not stock electric chokes help!

Arthur. Had the same problem. The accelerator pump leather was gone. Rebuilt the carb with a new pump and the problem was solved.

Sound like a good idea to rebuild since it has been decades since I last rebuilt. I read in one of the documents where this problem was noticed early by GM and they were talking about composite base gaskets as a source of heat transfer. I will change out to a non composite gasket when with the rebuild. thanks for the input
