Title: Carter AFB date codes
Post by: jmos4 on February 24, 2018, 05:25:29 PM
Hi all,

I was doing some research for a friend and figured I'd post it all here. This information was gathered doing a bunch of Google searches, so take it at that, and if I do have something wrong please post it. Just trying to get the information put in 1 place.

2 digit date code:
Letter, Number
Month, Year
Example: A5=January 1965

3 digit date code:
Letter, Letter, Number
Week, Month, Year
Example: AA5= 1st week, January 1965

Months: (Note "I" is not used)

A=January
B=February
C=March
D=April
E=May
F=June
G=July
H=August
I= NOT USED
J=September
K=October
L=November
M=December

Regards,

 Thanks Jim.

 Should we have a thread on the codes that can be updated as more information comes to light ?
 Easy enough to do.  It could be set as a sticky also.

Hey Loren,

Yeah making a sticky or the information in 1 place would be great as like I said I looked all over for a day and a half to come up with this, from several different sources, but reading through posts on ever other car site or carb rebuilding site was a pain which hopefully this post will help the next persons investigation.

Cheers,

The way I understand the letters & numbers relate:
1st. you have the identification  IE /3645S
The next is the date code IE /D5  would be April '65
IF there's a letter in front of the date code IE  / A would mean the 1st. update to that particular model
In other words AD5 would mean A is the 1st. update (could be B-C-D)       followed by D5
