Do the trunk pans come with the section that holds the captive nuts for mounting the body to the frame? I cannot tell from the pics.
-
George , I don,t know if all of them do or not . I know the one piece trunk pan from Tamarz does but not sure on all of them .
I think some of the 3 piece trunk sections you have to order the braces separately .

George, My five piece trunk pan set came with the body braces and capture nuts but they needed to welded in.

It does look like the one piece pan from Tamaraz has those captive nuts.
I'm also concerned on how to line everything up when welding it in.

I'm probably going to buy the one puce trunk pan from Tamraz, however, I am not sure how to go about cutting it out and fitting the new one in place so it Iines up properly when the body is mounted to the frame.
Seems like I would need to have the body suspended over the frame to tack it in place.
Any siggestions?

Georege , Thats the one I got also . So far they look pretty good except for the center drain hole is different , which is not a big deal .

Yes, I noticed that too. Not a deal breaker, still looks good.

Getting this trunk pan in place was one heck of a pain! I cannot believe it, thought it was going to be quick and easy. Geez.
Oh well, I'm done ranting.
Now I need to massage it into place and tack it in.
Still isn't exactly where it needs to be. ugh!

George , I had to remove one side of the trunk drop down panel to get mine in . How did you put yours in ? I did have to do a little tweaking on mine in one spot next to the wheel well , it was right behind the right wheel well where the corner is tipped up . It was,t bent up high enough so I heated the flange a little and was able to bend it into place .
I,m really happy with the fit and finish on mine .
It is a major task but you'll make it . Sounds like you almost got it .

Ranting is good for the soul and an integral part of working on old cars.

With the help of a friend, we were able to slide it in from the front of the car. Took a little bit of forcing, but it worked.
