I sent my 2-4 air cleaner out to be rechromed and after it went through the 'acid wash' tank they called and said that the snorkels had just about disintegrated. They were paper thin. Somewhere I had read that they were reproducing the snorkels for the 409 2-4 air cleaner. After searching they were found at http://www.show-cars.com/ in New Ulm, MN. They were $49 each and attached to the main body very easily. Way better than buying two used air cleaners and removing the snorkels from them (the only other alternative I could come up with).
The other good news is that they are reproducing the AC A-59C air filter. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3X2-2X4-348-409-AC-A59C-AIR-FILTER-ELEMENT-/400212281759?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d2e82c99f

Thanks for the info on the snorkel. I also had heard the same about it being reproduced.
Now I can fix a good aircleaner that someone removed the snorkel.
Thanks,
Loren

Loren,
No need to go out and buy one. I have a regular GS air cleaner that I had one of those snorkels welded on years ago. You can have it. I'll never use it. Send me a pm with your address....

The 409 snorkels are a little different than the Buick snorkels. The last 1/2" or so where they attach to the main body flare out to a larger size. The Buick ones maintain the same size all the way to the main body.

Walt, you are correct that they are different. Nobody reproduces the Buick snorkel though (what a shock, I know).
All in all though I think it still looks good.

Mark,
Thanks for the offer, I just need to fix this one and then it needs a new home.
