So I got the vertical drip rail and vinyl top trim off but the upright drip rail pieces won't slide up or down due to their location.
So how do they come off????
I might not be back here till tomorrow so I appreciate your help. Thanks.

It is easy, take an old beer can opener, cover the end with black tape (not the pointed end) to protect the trim pieces and ever so carefully, lift the edges of the trim up and off. If can get you a picture, I will

Thanks Tom. Is that also the proper way to get the horizontal one off too? I tapped it and slidnit all the way forward till it came off.
Thanks

How did the blasting go? Any pictures?

He is supposed to come friday am but now i'll wait to hear from him in the morning. He says if it's too windy they can't do it. So I think he's getting ready to blow me off till monday. :protest: :protest: :protest:

Well Joe ole buddy, I'm an hour from you and it's 25 degrees with wind gusts up to 40 mph.
I'd say it's not a good day to blast!
Who waits until DECEMBER to have their car blasted anyway? :violent1: :laughing7:
Painting it in this weather is going to be the hard part....do you still have that tent set up, or did you find a garage?
-
No Walt, no tents up but the blaster will set a tent up around it in the same driveway where I had it.
I waited till I had the cash. I'm very sorry I put it off for a whole year but money dictates progress. And it's been in the 60's here until the other day so i'll get it blasted then get it in epoxy primer and leave it in my garage. Mu Green 65 is in my neighbors garage for the winter. Thank god for great neighbors.
What i'm gonna do is, after its blasted, do the under side here so I can drop it on the frame and trailer it to his buddies booth around the corner from me. His friend has a real big and newly restored 7 bay body shop. He's got 2 spray booths. 1 brand new and an older one.

With 40 mph winds, why pay someone to blast the car?
I would suggesting sitting it outside and throw a bucket of sand or baking soda into the air about 10 feet in front of it... that should get the job done. :icon_scratch: :tongue3:
Seriously Joe.. I know how excited you are to get this done now that you can afford it. Please be sure to post some pictures with notes about how the whole process went and anything you would do different next time.
I'm looking for you to be the Guinea pig as I have two of them here to get scheduled myself.
Best of luck buddy :occasion14:

Rain, rain, go away.......
Hope it clears out for you on Monday
I know you had a hard time finding somebody to blast it at a reasonable cost. Sounds like you have a good plan now. Keep us posted! :occasion14:
