Does anyone have a good source for locating the bathtub moldings for the side moldings and the clips for the halos for a 65 skylark? I have all the trim but I don't think it came with any of the clips should I decide to remount them. Let me know, any help is appreciated!

Sorry, I don't understand what parts your are looking for. Can you post a picture or diagram? I must be getting too old for this! :-)

Sorry, not trying to be cryptic. Talking about the mounting clips for the halo trim moldings and the side trim on the 65 skylark. The chrome that runs down the side of the car and the ring that runs around the roof and down below the rear window. I've attached a picture to illustrate the two trim pieces I'm trying to describe. Thanks again for any help!

The side trim bathtub clips - I have a handful of these NOS --- a friend is getting a 3D scanner & printer soon - do you think I could reproduce them that way?
-
Did anyone come up with a resource or solution on these clips?
-
I found these on eBay. I have no idea if they are correct but they appear similar.

Not sure if anyone makes the halo clips as they are unique to the Buick only!? The eBay clips look close if the car uses the weld on studs! If the car uses the style that press and lock into the body then they wouldn't be!

I haven't forgotten about this project. I'm meeting with my friend hopefully this week to try to print a prototype from my NOS bathtub clip.
If I can get a prototype made, is someone with a '65 Skylark available to test-fit the product? Thanks.

ABS should work. Don't use PLA or PVA as they are biodegradable!
Making clips with a 3D printer isn't the most cost effective method as the time and materials cost is on the high side. Worth a try tho!

Thanks for the info Walt! A friend has the printer so we are going to just run an "experiment." What would be the best solution long term?

How about side molding clips for a 64? Anyone know where to get them, a friend needs some for his freshly painted convertible.
-
Heading to my buddy's 3D print shop tomorrow. NOS clips in hand... Stay tuned. If this works, I will need someone to test fit them.
-
Are 64's the same?

Are 64's the same?
I've never been able to find a part number for this clip (anyone?), but I don't *think* they are the same.
-
I should have a few ABS prototypes later today.
I need someone to please volunteer to test-fit these prototypes! Anyone?
-
Prototypes are in! Each is a slightly different size.
Anyone out there with a 65 Skylark willing to volunteer to test them out? My Silver Could Skylark has mint paint and I don't want to risk scratching it, and my Arctic White 'Lark is a survivor and I don't want disturb anything.

Hi Dan,
I've got a 65 Skylark parts car and would be happy to test fit the prototypes if they fit on my car. Please confirm what moldings these clips are for and where installed on the car. My parts car is a 4-door if that makes a difference.
:cheers2:

Just sent you a PM.

Not good news so far. Looks like (as of now) that my idea was a total failure! I will regroup and report back.
Thanks for your help Chuck!!!
