Hello Gurus,
I'm cleaning up my 65 GS convertible over the winter. The rattiest thing under the hood (except for myself) is the woven cover on the tube that runs from the passenger side exhaust manifold to the carburetor. Does anyone know where I can I find this insulation? I've found black woven insulation tubing, but the insulation on my car is white and it sure looks original.
Thanks,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I bought some of that choke tube insulation years ago at a swap meet. I can't remember which vender carried it but I think that it probably was a Chevy reproduction supplier. I did a quick search and found this company that has the correct insulation in white.

John, fixed your link, it was missing the 'ml' in 'html'.
I've used fiberglass sleeving avail from industrial suppliers, but the $6.99 Ecklers product is a good deal.

Back in the day I would guess they used asbestos, bad stuff. I used Kevlar, found the kit at NAPA Auto Parts. BK 7321419 Product Line: Balkamp. Work great, you can order it online.

Thanks to all.
I'll check, but I don't think my insulation has the black ends that are on the Eckler part. The other problem is that shipping for it is $7.99. I think I'll try the NAPA kevlar and report back.
