Title: Arm rests and bases
Post by: Buick_65 on September 09, 2016, 09:09:50 PM
Okay, I feel like an idiot here.  For the record, I have scoured (and I mean scoured) the interwebs for pictures, and tried to read the GM service manuals before I began typing.  I came up blank.

How in the heck to the arm rests and bases attach to the door.  Seems to me the base attached somehow, and then the pads attached through the metal clips with the Phillips screw.  But I'll be damned if I can remember how they came off.  Can anyone shed some light?  I'd like to get them on for the show next weekend.

Thanks all

2- sheet metal screws attach the base to the door on a hardtop.  Look at the picture I posted, you can see the hole in the middle of the door.

Mines a convert. Wonder if they're the same. Will check later, wondering if some holes got chromed over in the rechrome.

Having these cars apart for too long does become a problem.  I've got a '70 GS 455 car that has been apart for over 20 years.  Going to need a lot of help with that one. lol
