Title: Repro shifter boot for NON console 3 and 4 speed cars
Post by: 35chevcoupe on November 26, 2015, 10:16:02 PM: Hey guys just wondering if there is any pursuit of a GOOD reproduction M/T shifter boot for cars without a console ?
I,ve been looking at photos of different boots and just wondering if anyone knows or has a correct one .
My parts car had the lower part of the boot still in it ( what was left of it ) and had a part number on it but not sure if it was correct either .

This has been kicked around for some time now and it doesn't look like anything is going to happen as far as a reproduction being made. I purchased an NOS 65 Chevelle M/T boot off ebay some time ago. It is not correct but looks decent. I shoved my old, torn original one under it and that is the one I screwed into the ring and tranny hump. I feathered the 65 boot under the carpet for appearance. It does it's job of keeping the hot air out.

Here's a pic of it next to the still available 'under-console' boot and retaining ring.

Second pic is the original next to the repo Fusick boot, which is a similar style but much larger.

the top half of my boot on the ( as far as I know ) totally original parts car I bought was missing , but heres a picture of the part # on the boot that was under the retaining ring . my part number is 3842926 FK-4
maybe mine wasn,t original but it sure looked like it .

Post by: WkillGS on November 27, 2015, 10:35:28 AM: John, 3842926 is the correct number for the 'under console' boot. It's also used on Chevelles and is readily available.
