Title: Second day at the track
Post by: Joe65SkylarkGS on October 25, 2009, 08:05:10 PM
I went to etown today and it was freaking jammed!! Took 2 plus hours to get a pass 3 total for me.

I went a little faster but was not on my game. I was very distracted today.

But went 12.20 at 109. Up from 12.40 at 108. I was hoping for more but will take it.

I think I'm gonna swap converters cause my 9 inch GER that's in there feels real loose. According to Larrys calculation, I'm slipping bad. Going through the traps at 6k and he says I should be at 5k.

I have a Jim Weiss 10.5 inch 3500 I got from a V8 member and I'll give that a shot. If that doesn't pick me up I guess I'm saving for a new one. I got this one for 150 so I figered it was worth a shot.

Going the right way with it at least.

I would love to build a car to take to the track.  All it takes is money!!  I have to have a trailer to run also.  It's 3 hours to a track for me, so too far to be broke down and have to fix it to get a car home.

Great run Joe! 2 tenths is a huge improvement...what did you do to get it?
I haven't been on the track in years. Picked up a few go-faster goodies I'd like to try out on my blue 66.

I didn't do anything. It was 90 my first time out and was throwing my belts off getting I up to 280 at the end of every run.

Now second time out (this weekend) it was good weather. I think it was around 70 but felt hot!!!

So I thought keeping it cool would get me more but it didn't. I'll be doing a few Friday nights at etown soon and will get better numbers. It will be nice and cool. And I'll start to tweak it.

Remember I never tried any timing curving or never changed the jets in my Demon 850, which is right out of the box!!!

Nothing like a brand new carb IMO!!
