Title: Difference in front bumper -Skylark Gran Sport/Special?
Post by: nailr65 on May 18, 2010, 06:39:37 AM
Is there a difference between the front bumper on a gran sport compared to the special?  Specifically the size of the front directional.  Thanks Dave :help:

Yes. Skylark & GS had a larger signal lens design. The wagon and Special used the smaller, rounded corner shaped signal lens.

Thanks Mark, I thought so just wanted to confirm.  Would you know of anyone who might have front directionals for a lark?  I'm in need of the electrical buckets.  Thanks again.

The buckets for the Skylark-Special are the same. The lens and bumpers differ.
That said, you have discovered one of the most difficult parts for a 65 Skylark to find and/or restore.

Mark are you saying that the buckets are the same for all 65 larks, specials and sport wagons regardless of the size of the opening in the bumper?

You are not kidding I have been asking all possible sources to try and find a pair of decent buckets

Yes, the buckets are all the same. Most will be rusted out, have studs broke off, or the wiring and bulb socket are junk. Usually all of that on the same one. I wish I could help on a source, but hopefully persistence will pay off.
