Title: knee knocker tach in GS console
Post by: bbbbuick on November 18, 2014, 02:53:52 PM
From what I have read, using a knee knocker style tach from a Wildcat in the GS console is a fairly easy install, though it seems a different lens may be required. My question is, are all knee knocker gauges the same size? I see them come up on auction sites semi-frequently but have yet to see a GS console version offered.

I remember doing this a long time ago on a 65 Skylark with the same chrome cup which the 65 GS has on automatics and stick cars with consollette. Used the housing which is already in the Skylark. Had to carefully knotch out 3 places in the lens and metal name plate to clear mounting screws. Did this with a small round file. It fit nicely and the knotch marks were covered.
