Title: Underside of hood

What is the correct color for the underside of the hood on a 65GS. I see some a flat black and I see some painted the color of the car.

The two previously unrestored GSs that I have were painted flat black with overspray of body color around the edges. One was built in Fremont and the other built in Kansas City, if that makes a difference.

Mine is flat black.  I noticed some overspray on mine as well, and thought it was just from the repaint my car got back in the 90's.

All of the cars built at US plant are black on the underside of the hood and the firewall is black.  Cars built in Canada have the underside of the hood and the firewall painted body color.   So the cars you have seen pics of with the firewall and underside of hood painted body color were most likely Canada built cars.
