Title: Trunk Weatherstrip
Post by: RamAir on September 29, 2014, 09:37:45 AM
looking for a trunk weather-strip for my 65 GS. Mine is cracking and flaking and is hard as a rock. Any good reproductions out there?

Prefer Soffseal. Others may have different ideas. http://www.soffseal.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=2003 (http://www.soffseal.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=2003)

Trunk actually closes nicely right away after installing.

Dan,

I used either Metro or Steele - I just can't remember which it was. Tight to close right away, but was fine
in a week  or two.

I just got done using metro trunk seal. Has a HOLLOW core. No resistance when closing and still leaks a tadd. I`m going to try softseal which is solid and should have more resisitance. Will now have to go to the trouble of removing ,cleaning the trough and replacing. Suggest 2 people to replace since you want the glue on both surfaces. You don`t want the glued seal to touch the paint.
