IS THERE ANY TALK OF LOCAL GATHERINGS FOR THE GS 50TH NEXT YEAR? I KNOW CHRIS IS ORGANIZING ONE IN COLUMBUS OHIO, BUT ITS A LONG DRIVE FROM ARIZONA. MAYBE DO A CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, OR TEXAS MEET WOULD BE ATTRACTIVE FOR US OUT WEST. JUST A THOUGHT. NOT SURE I WOULD MAKE THE OHIO TRIP. IF INTERESTED POST YOUR IDEAS. THANKS IN ADVANCE, HOPE WE ALL ENJOY OUR CARS IN 2015!!!

Another possible location would be the BCA Nationals which is being held in Springfield, MO on June 10 - 14, 2015.
-
I plan to hit the BCA. One thing about Missouri is that it is practically in the center of the U.S. Might be a good one to try to attend for owners from the West and East (not to mention North and South). Could be one big get together.

It sounds like there will be more then one event looking to showcase the 65's on their Anniversary.
At this point I will probably be trying to attend several if I can.
I know it is early yet but I'm in for the BCA National in Springfield, MO in June 2015.
The BCA National has participation at several levels allowing for a level you feel comfortable with.
*Formal 400 Point Judging
*Archival Judging
*Modified Judging
*Driven Class
*Display Only
*Registration without a car (Gives you the Goody Bag +)
If you wish to be a judge get the BCA Judging Manual and join the fun.
Additional activities of local regional interest are also included to diversify your experience
I have never known Racing to be part of the BCA National program but they have included race cars in previous programs for the show or special interest.
As Pointed out already Springfield, MO is about as close to the center of the 48 as you can get.
Midwest participation for the 65 GS and Riv GS have registered high in the past.
Anyone that had the good luck to be at the Ames IA BCA National a few years ago witnessed that with 9 GS and several local drive In's.
Check out our Forum conversations on Ames for great pictures and discussion.
As Chris has put it in previous conversations"could you imagine what it would be like to see 50 65GS at once on their 50th".
Just my ramblings but something to think about.
Milton
PS The BCA Nationals are running this week in Portland OR so promotion for the 2015 National will start next week.

Out of curiosity, who is planning on attending?
I am and have hotel reservations already. It should be a good show since the host hotel is filled and surrounding hotels are filling also.

Loren,
I will be attending.
Mark
-
Loren,

Count my car and I in for sure.
I have my reservations in already.
Lots of local housing is filling fast if you didn't get into the host hotel.
The 65 GS car participation for the BCA Nationals in Ames IA a couple years ago was really amazing
Lets do it again for the 50th in Springfield MO!

Good point on the rooms. The host hotel is full. Several of us are staying at the Comfort Inn & Suites on N. Glenstone. (417) 869-8246. But there are other hotels nearby also. https://www.google.com/maps/search/hotels+motels/@37.2469809,-93.2653397,15z?hl=en (https://www.google.com/maps/search/hotels+motels/@37.2469809,-93.2653397,15z?hl=en)

We might try and hit this. We will be in St. Louis on June 9th for the Power Tour and may break off there.
-
Jim, have you seen the 2015 Power Tour schedule?
-
Unofficially a travel company listed Milwaukee, Champaign, Madison, Il/St. Louis, Memphis, TBD, TBD, Baton Rouge. Not planning to long haul this time so going to try and make it to Springfield through this indirect route. These are not official.

I believe my local dealer, Reynolds Buick in West Covina, actively raced a 65 GS, and I think they created a tribute car. I stopped by a few days ago and tried to find out whether they were planning anything special for the 50th anniversary, the guy I talked to was completely clueless. Does anybody here have a contact at Reynolds? That would be very convenient for those of us in Southern California.
