Title: OEM-correct license plate hardware?
Post by: BuickGS65 on March 11, 2024, 07:37:01 PM
Is there a such thing as OEM-factory-correct license plate hardware? I havent check the parts book yet to see if there was a part number listing for this...

Was this a dealer item and therefore the dealer couldve used any hardware?

OR is there a factory-correct screw/bolt and nut?

There are so many variations of reproduction hardware...

Any input appreciated.  Thanks

The plastic nuts were part of filler door or license plate holder! They do have a part #9420348 the screws were furnished by dealer! Most likely slotted screws!! This is shown on the rear bumper backup lamp installation engineering sheet! Rockford products out of Rockford IL made a nylon nut and screw that were really nice for plates! The screw was nylon with a steel insert! I might have a sample!? Not sure if anyone makes something like this anymore! Optional License plate frames were stainless steel and came in a package factory accessory! I have a set somewhere! The rear frame has a built in tab so you can pull it down to fill the gas tank!
