Not something you are likely to see again. I think the price would be considered realistic from what I have seen on plating.

My thoughts exactly. Another thing that seems to happen with re-plating is some loss of detail when the item is polished in the plating process.

The grill is sold. Which one of you guys beat others to it? :hello2:

It's not going to be on my doorstep.

$850? Seems like a good deal to me! Now someone just needs to find an NOS manual trans pedal setup in their uncle's attic for me!

Dear Chuck, Kevin, Rick, and mid-60s Buick parts hounds,
The grill is sold. Which one of you guys beat others to it? :hello2:
I didn't even try even if I was tempted. Seeing how fast it sold, I wonder if $1000 wouldn't have been a more reasonable price!
Cheers, Edouard

We will probably see it on eBay for $1800.. Nobody here got it? I was definitely thinking and then I changed my mind. There is a guy that quoted me $1200 on a pair of nos bezels,so the parts are out there if price is no object. I still have that fuzzy line in the sand as to what is realistic and just plain silly.

I wouldn't feel too bad about it. I asked for pictures and it was not pristine. The paint was flaking on the bottom bezel and it was hard to judge the condition of the chrome. Maybe it just wasn't highly polished, but it didn't look any better to me than the one I have that's in good shape. So many times NOS doesn't mean "just like it is brand new".

All too many times true, most all of the NOS parts came out of old dealer inventory. I think some of that may have been dealer take offs for one reason or another.
Just a thought,

Wow. I guess I'm lucky mine cleaned up nice.
