Title: Speedometer cable
Post by: cwmcobra on October 18, 2016, 07:14:55 AM
My car came with a Muncie 4-speed and the speedometer cable was not connected.  I was told it was too short.  Looking at what's available for our 65s, I find two lengths, 63" and 83".  Can anyone confirm if either of these is right?  The one I have measures about 57" so both are longer......

Or, a part number would work as well.

Thanks,

Chuck

I have converted a couple cars from auto to 4-speed and the cable from a ST300 will work perfectly with the t10.  Not sure why yours is too short.  The longer one (83") you looked up is probably for the 3-speed manual in the GS since the Ford trans had the speedometer connection over on the passenger side of the tailhousing.

Chuck,

I used my stock cable and my car was a 300/ St300 originally, I  may have had to take it out of the floorboard clip, but it has worked on both drivers side and passenger side Muncies and my Autogear.

Unless you are running a newer Muncie with a 400 output (longer)it should work.
