Saw this on V8Buick http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/pts/2912768518.html (http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/pts/2912768518.html)
Obviously a Buick engine with rare manual transmission bellhousing. But what is the transmission ?

Has the appearance of some kind of Ford transmission with the sheet metal cover on top. Also has the odd Ford bolt pattern where it mounts to the flywheel housing, and the GS bellhousings like that one have the Ford pattern on them because of the For 3-speed Buick used.

Could that be a three speed GS setup ?

Looks like a different trans than what is pictured in the GS supplement.

That is not the gs trans the dearborn for the gs has two shift arms coming out the side and a different tail housing. Don't know what that critter is. -Glenn

Brian seems to think its a Ford transmission (top plate) with overdrive (tail housing).
It is still available. I checked. Will need a fork lift or a cherry picker to load it.

I am 98% sure that is a Ford toploader transmission. However, it does not look like anything I've ever seen from the late 60's or early 70's. I wonder if it's actually from a late 70's Grenada. :confused4:

Looks like the ad was revised on the 20th..... the bellhousing and linkage are no longer available! Wonder what those went for?
I have no idea what that trans is. I still have a pair of '67 Fairlanes with 4 speeds and trans looks much different. I'd guess that trans is older than '64.
