Title: Bucket seat hinge

I haven't checked my manuals, but I thought I'd start here.

On the bucket seat hinge, is they anything this is supposed to be (or recommended to be) installed before the chrome helmet-looking cap is installed? A fiber washer? A metal clip?

I hope my question/description makes sense. Thanks.

There is a fiber washer that goes on first, then the backrest, followed by the chrome cap.
Nothing goes between the seat hinge and the helmet looking cap.

Where can a guy get 4 of the helmet looking caps, new? I ruined mine when reupholstering my seats (getting it apart)

Just about any reseller has the caps. Ames, Year One, Fusick Olds, they all have em.
64-65 Chevelle, GTO/Lemans, Olds 442/Cutlass, Skylark/Gran Sport, all the same.
