Hello all,
I've been around the 70-72 Skylarks for 30+ years and have always really liked the 65 cars a lot.
Lately my search has heated up and hopefully sooner than later I will find the "right" 64 / 65 Skylark for me.
My 70 has transformed into a dedicated race car so I need something to take the wife for ice cream in.
I have a lot to learn about the these earlier cars so hopefully I don't drive you guys crazy with questions.
Thanks,Gary

Gary, Welcome, and great picture of your '70!

Welcome Gary,
"I have a lot to learn about the these earlier cars so hopefully I don't drive you guys crazy with questions."
You have a big task ahead of you,..... most of us have been to crazy for a while. Always room for one more though, so ask away.

Gary,
Welcome to the place to be for early Gran Sports. Cars are out there, but decent ones seem to be getting harder to find.
Let us know what you need, someone here can help.
Love your 70!

Welcome Gary ,
I,m sure you will find a 65 soon . The guys around here are like hound dogs huntin coons when it comes to 65 gran sports . LOL
Don,t worry about asking questions , they haven,t booted me out yet .
I might ask you questions about your 1970 though , after my 65 is done I'm going to start on my 71 GS . ( supposedly was a stage 1 car ) :dontknow:
Love that 70 and what a nice shot .

Welcome Gary! I think you've gotten a feel for the willingness of this group to help out when it comes to 65 GS era cars. And I second what John said, they haven't kicked me out yet either! :headbang:
Keep us posted on your search and any preliminary questions you have.
:cheers2:

Welcome to the group Gary. I don't think that there is a question about 65 G.S.'s that this group can't answer. In the planning stages of the second annual Northwest Ohio 65GS gathering to be held in Defiance, Ohio later this summer, stay tuned. Elyria swap meet, Sunday April 23rd, planning on being there? Good place for a meet and greet.

Elyria swap meet sounds like a good idea.
Here's my first question ... Are these correct for a 65 Skylark?

Gary,
They are, but you can buy those right here from Dan Habel for quite a bit less:

Yes those are correct for a '65 Skylark or Gran Sport. But not for a '65 Special.
They are excellent reproductions that are sold by one of our members.

Interesting ... I was under the impression he was sold out.
He had a post on V8Buick offering his "last three" sets and someone claimed them in that thread. I'll check it out. Thanks!
