HI; Now that the bell housing is on the way. My parts list shows that I am missing the piece that the release bearing presses on to. Is there a place that would stock that part. A picture would be good. Dimensions would be good . I have some off of older trucks and tractors. One may be the same or close.

The clip is tack welded to the TOB bearing. Here is an old TOB and its attaching point:

Hi,
Your throwout bearing is pressed on the holder and the clip is pop rivet on bearing holder or inner sleeve, the bearing is aviable from rock auto and you reuse the holder or not sure the name maybe Terrill machine somewhere in Texas has a complete nos for a late 30's early 40's Buick and is the same as 65-66 nailheads
I will see if I can find the place but maybe someoneelse can chime in

Jim is correct on his description of the release bearing assembly. Terril machine did have the complete assemblies, but no longer has them--I bought the last one from them about a year ago--all they have to sell now is the bearing, and you can get that at any auto parts store. I have not been able to find another source for the collar with the clips on it. If you don't have one, you are going to have to find a used one somewhere and replace the bearing on it.

Yes, looking at mine again it is riveted not tack welded.

Sometimes they show up on eBay. One just sold on eBay about 10 minutes ago. Glad you got it Morrie!

Hi ; I bought a clutch assembly today from a local supplier . It came as a complete kit with bearing. It has a bearing much like the last one on ebay post but no clip.

They were used on various models from 1940-66. Bet there are still lots of them sitting on shelves.
I have not been able to find another source for the collar with the clips on it. If you don't have one, you are going to have to find a used one somewhere and replace the bearing on it.
The clutch release clip is now reproduced; just need to add your 1505 bearing.

Hey Dan,
Nice find on the throwout bearing clips. So you would have to drill out the rivets on the repopped part and re-rivet to the correct TOB, correct?

I followed the link and it says that it only fits Buicks up thru 1958. Has anyone confirmed this will fit the 59-66 models? I know the 1958 and older flywheel housings have a much smaller bore in them for the transmission to pilot into--is the input shaft and bearing retainer a smaller diameter as well?

I defer to Walt (see his post above)... But here are my thoughts:
(1) Group .799 Part # 1319083 fits:
LIMITED 1939 1942
CENTURY 1939 1942
CENTURY 1954 1955
ROADMASTER 1939 1942
ROADMASTER 1946 1948
SUPER 1953 1955
SPECIAL 1956 1958
LESABRE 1959 1960
LESABRE 1963 1963
WILDCAT 1963 1963
ELECTRA 1963 1963
So based on the above years, the 59-66 concern is eliminated? (Also see Jim jmos4 reply #3 above)
(2) Bob's only sells parts up to like 1958, so I'm not surprised his listing goes beyond that year.

I believe you just press on your new 1505 bearing onto the clip assembly.

Anyone have the dimensions of an original?

Inside diameter is roughly 1 3/8 and the height (not including the clips) is roughly 1 5/16
