Well I regret to tell you that I've decided to sell GS and parts.I've baught a 66 Chevelle and going build it into my grand touring car instead of the Buick. I just want to give you guys notice that I'm planning to sell my 65 GS post coupe body and all rust repair panels along with the beautiful auto console I got from Wheelz, brand new glass hood and all chrome and trim. I'm not interested in shipping pieces and parts so I'd like to sell as one lot and I could possibly travel to meet someone. Let me know if there is any interest because I need to shop space back.my name is Brandon 605.461.6333

Brandon, nothing wrong with Chevelles, and this will give someone else the opportunity to have a '65 Skylark GS.
Is there a frame that goes with the body ? Seem to recall you installing coil overs a while back. Do you have any interior pieces besides those mentioned ? Dash pads, door panels, etc are difficult to come by for the post cars. Finally, what is the asking price ?

Inquiring minds want to know. Clear title?

Still thinking on the price, I. Sure I have more into it than I'd ever get back. I can get more pics in two weeks as I'm out of town. I have all the interior but the seats need redone and the door panels have some small tears at the very bottom edge. Car was red/red with black interior. Yes clean title but the frame is going under my Chevelle so bring out the Lynch mob hahahahah

Seem to recall that there is a length difference with a Chevelle being a little shorter.
Loren
-
I'll do some careful measuring before I do anything but I think I just need to take a couple inches off the back frame horns.
-
Chevelle
Overall length 196.6"
Wheelbase 115.0"
Tread width
front 58.0"
rear 58.0"
Overall width 74.6"
Skylark
Overall length 203.4"
Wheelbase 115.0"
Tread width
front 58.0"
rear 58.0"
Overall width 73.6"
Recalled there being a difference. Didn't remember exact measurements, so I looked it up. Trunk may be shorter?
Loren

Correct, Chevelle frame is about 2" shorter in the rear.
And I think Olds had different front frame horns.
-
Not only is the length of the frame different in the rear, but the shape of it is different where it comes up to the rear body mounts. I think it is different in the front where the bumper brackets mount to the frame as well. The frames are very similar, but upon closer examination, there are a lot of small differences that make swapping them a lot of work. It would be a lot easier for you if you found a Chevelle frame and sold the Buick frame with the Buick

Agree with Brian. Would probably want a Chevelle convertible frame so that its boxed, but boxing a regular frame might actually cost less.
What suspension/brakes do you have on the GS frame ?
-
I have all the original suspension saved but right now its a perfect straight rust free frame that's been blasted and powder coated. I have UMI adjustable johny joint rear control arms and speed tech coilover brackets with Viking double adjustable coilovers in the rear with factory posi rear. Front is speedway control arms and tall dropped spindles, proforged complete front rebuild kit and a brand new quick ratio grand Cherokee steering box and UMI sway bars front and rear. Also has been stainless fuel and brake lines and pypes 2 2/2" stainless exhaust. Motor is a 70 455 to which I've added ported 70 stage 1 heads a TA cam, intake, oil pump/regulator/booster plate, water pump and valve covers, Harland Sharp roller rockers and custom 800cfm Qjet. It's mounted with TA Mounts and has stock 67 GS manifolds and us attached to a 67 switch pitch th400 with a transgo shift kit, electronic controller and a small v6 torque converter.

If the frame is already powder coated, you don't even want to think about trying to modify it to fit the chevelle body. You will have to remove all the powder coat from the frame at least 12" back from where the welding /cutting will be done, then you will have to wet paint the area you did the modifications on since you can only re-do the powder coating if you take it back apart down to the bare frame. Powder coating is not friendly to welding--it melts wherever it gets hot and makes a big mess/terrible smell.

Sounds like you have been there and done that Brian.

Well I won't do anything until I have the frames side by side but all my research leads me to beleave the only difference is in the back two inches of the frame.
-
It will be interesting to see the differences. Keep us up on this.

Oh I will and I hope somebody will take all these parts off my hands :occasion14:
-
Guess you need to get a starting point out there and see where it takes you.
Best of luck,
Loren

For the body and all sheet metal, chrome, trim and interior I'd take 2,500$
Hood 500$
Engine/trans 3,000$
Console/shifter 700$

Ok gentleman its time for this car to go I need the space in my garage. The prices are just a starting point because I was asked for one but the reality is I just need it gone. This car is staight it just needs the rust repair finished but I know it's not worth a lot without a matching numbers frame so please come get this out of my garage. I have all the trim witch is really very nice as well as the complete interior. The tail lights are quite nice and the bumpers are well worth rechroming. Any interested parties?? Hate to see any of this go to waste
-
Brandon, I need to get out there for the valve covers anyway, maybe I can look at the trim pieces and tail lights, etc. I might have time next weekend. Email or PM me, I will send you my number too. Jim

Thanks to Loren and Bill for coming to get the GS basket case out of my way. Hope you guys made it back safe and great meeting you Loren!
-
Hey Brandon,
Yes made it home, finally arriving at 2 AM. Think a nap will be on the agenda at some time. LOL
It was a pleasure to meet you and give my thanks to your friends for their help. I think Bill and I would still be there had they not helped.
Now the task of going through all the parts and getting it put away.
Your chassis and engine look fantastic and the Chevelle isn't bad either. Good luck with it and you're always welcome here.
And if that plan to put the Chevy on the Buick chassis doesn't work for you, I'll have to save that chassis too. LOL

Glad you guys got that done before the bad weather hits hard!

Yes, the highway reader boards in Sioux City had winter storm warnings on them when we passed through last night .

Yes, uneventful trip, and that is good. I see this afternoon, Sioux Falls has at least 12' snow. I was glad to help with the car and parts. Had a good time. Brandon, and friends thanks for all the help, thanks Bill.
