Title: painting clutch linkage bits
Post by: wildcat65 on June 11, 2008, 11:55:42 AM
I have to paint these bits up, I was thinking a combination of black and cast iron paint-
pedal to link- black
link-black
link to zbar- black
zbar-cast
frame mount- black

Does that sound right or are there cad plated links, steel grey stuff?
Thanks,
 ted

Ted,

The pedal to link on my car was black.
The frame mount was also black.
Everything in between was gray phosphate, so thats how I had mine done.
After cleaning all the parts, it was easy to see how they were finished.
Maybe Brian or Chris can chime in and describe the parts on their cars.

Mark

On my '66, the lower (bolt-on) frame bracket was grey phosphate. The other parts didn't look to be finished at all, just bare metal. Believe I finished them with POR's 'Metal Mask' for a bare metal look. The cast (or is it forged) piece I used cast iron powdercoat.
The rubber bushings for the pedal rod are avail.....use a sway bar link bushing for a Corvette.
