Hey guys I was wondering what the correct carb numbers are for a dual quad set up for 65 manual trans car is ? :dontknow:
-
Front = 3645
Rear = 3924
The 3924 is rare as hens' teeth!
-
The set I'm looking at has a 3645 front and a 3646 rear , so what would the 3646 be for ?
-
That's the combo I have. From my information, its the proper set for a 1964 425 2X4 with automatic trans. Mine performs VERY well!
-
Yeah you are right , I just found it in a old Chiltons manual I have here . My manual doesn't specify auto or manual though .
All it says is 1964 3645 all
3646s
1965 3923s
3924
-
According to the info I gathered from several sources, the 1965 2X4 setup for automatics used a 3925 rear carb.
-
Here's a chart I put together:
-
Sorry about that , it does also show 3925 also . This manual shows several numbers but it doesn't say which ones are for the dual quads . Anyway thanks for your help . I really appreciate all you guys help on this forum .
I'm going thru a 55 gallon drum of AFBs I bought and am trying to decode them .

Wow! Good luck. I hope you find some gems in there...... :icon_thumright:

Thanks , so far most of them are pontiac , but did find one for a 63 buick . :icon_scratch:

I have been a lucky guy - This is my # 1 set of 3924 + 3645 carbs. I bought another from Carmen, and have the original set on the Wildcat 2 x 4 4-sp convertible.
since the 65 GS was not available with this set my guess is most 65 GS cars with this are running (ex Riviera) automatic carbs.
