I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of this car. There is no way though, that he can claim this to be 1 of 500 "small badge" cars, or that it was 1 of 3 in that scheme. GM didn't keep records on how any of that would be broken down.

I questioned those numbers as well..... if Mark, Loren, or John don't know the numbers, it's unlikely anyone else does!

There's a post about the car over at V8. Word is that's it's rough, and would be a difficult resto.

I understood that the small badge was something like the first 200 cars. And like Walt said, there hasn't been documentation found, that breaks down as far as he claims.
Always try something for a selling point?

I had a small badge car that was built in mid-Feb. at KC. GS production started in early Jan. of 65. A wild guess would tell me that at least several thousand were built between all the plants.

Like I said, just guessing based on what I've seen of these cars, and some knowledge of GM assembly.

I want to see some photos also.  I am going to email this guy.  The seller speaks with such authority I figured he knew something I didn't.   I'll ask him where he got his statistics.

I found this car during my daily hunt for the Iowa 3spd convert that a guy told me about while we were in Ames.  I gave that guy my phone number but  he never called me.

Dont waste your time or energy, i saw this car 5 years ago, the owner is not what id call reliable, the car is so rusty its a parts car...he didnt know what small badge was, when he went to the john, i looked thru the glovebox and found the grille badge...i brought it to his attention and he had no clue....i made a serious road trip for nothing..at that time he said 2 parts cars went with it, i saw one, when i asked to see the other, he said he didnt have the time, i said if i can drive he should have time and it just went down hill from there...

its a bucket seat console, a/c car...wrong motor right trans, manis,mounts,pan there..completely disassembled...

someone on the V8 board has been trying to get in touch for 3 weeks and the guy wont return calls or emails..he doesnt have any valid info on the small badge theory..again hes not reliable on any info he spews

In the 25 plus years I have only seen 1 ,3spd convertible that was any good !I saw it at the Jefferson, WI swap in the late 1990 's early 2000 ! It was sold! matching number car to! Rob, if you want a black small badge convert to restore I can talk to a friend of mine! This is the first 65 gs up utill that time that I had ever seen!, he has owned it for over 20 plus years! would be even bigger project then your Red 1 ! , early Flint build car, black, saddle interior, white top, wheel well trim/ wide trim , remote mirror, auto, tinted glass all windows! should have not crushed the 3 small badge cars! over the years but they where junk! I sent the guy on Craigslist a request for pictures and he actually replied today. No pictures mind you but he promises to send some. I'll keep you informed.
