Most of the manuals (but not the parts book) have an index on the last page, so look it up there first. The index will not direct you to a page number, but to a section number, and page.
For example, To look up SUSPENSION specs:
In the 1965 Chassis manual service manual, The index is on the last page, page 646. Start there. You have to back up a page to find the listing for SUSPENSION....That directs you to page 7-1. ???
Now the hard part. You have to zero in on page 7-1 by trial and error.
The manual is set up by sections....
Section 1 is in the front of the book, and section 12 is in the rear of the book. That makes sense.
You want page 7-1 for suspension.....that translates to:
Section 7, page 1
Figure section 7 is somewhere in the middle of the book, lets try page 350. Click on 'Page 350'.....that takes you a page. In the upper corner is the page number....once again, it's Section#-page#. In this case, clicking on page 350 takes you to 'Section 8- page 22.
Guess we picked the wrong number, guess again!
Going back 22 pages should take you to the first page of Section 8, so go back more than 22 pages....Lets go back 40 pages, and click on 'page 310'.....
That takes us to a page marked 7-9....section 7- page 9. Close!
We want 7-1, so go back 8 pages....click on 'page 302'....
Bingo! we're in Section 7, page 1! ;D
It could be organized better, but that would take the fun out of it!
Note there is a manual for 1965 Buick Chassis and one for 1965 GS Service.
The 65 Chassis manual will cover everything on the base small-block Special and Skylark.
The 65 GS manual will cover only those items that are different that the base Skylarks....like a 401 Nailhead engine.
