65 gs stumbles

Hi, car runs fine  normal driving ,but taking off  low gear to 5,000rpm no problem  shift to drive sometimes hesitation over 4,000 then letting off car surges for 10-15 seconds  then runs fine again  motor  was rebuilt 20yrs but only 3,000 miles ago  maybe fuel pump,filter ?  Jim

Auto or stick?

How long ago was the carb last rebuilt?

Sounds a little like accelerator valve gone bad or something not adjusted for the kick down/stall converter linkage if automatic

Try and lube th weights and check everything moves freely and go from there
