1964 Skylark, SOLD
« on: March 16, 2010, 12:28:28 AM »
Help a poor buy turn this and his recently sold 72 Skylark into a 65 that he wants to pick up.
I have to make a road trip April 10th and if this thing sells I'm going to take that and the money from my 72 and pick up a 65.  I know that the 64 and 65 are very close to the same and my 64 has a better engine, but it's not a 65.

1964 Buick Skylark

Body in great shape, rear quarters and all. I bought a 1965 4 barrel 300 engine with 10,000 miles on the rebuild and installed in it and it runs smooth and strong. The carburetor was converted to a newer electric choke unit. The guy I bought the engine from didn?t have paper work on the engine but it came from an exceptional car that was being upgraded to a 455 and I pulled the oil pan and it was clean as new in there.

This car had no functional front brakes when I got it and needed one drum. I have the new shoes, cylinders and rubber brake lines but still need to get a used drum or two new drums to complete the brake work. All the trim is there with nice halo top chrome but side trim has small dings in it. I have some extra trim that I got from a parts car. Dash pad has a crack in it but I also have an extra dash pad in great condition. No front seats and it has an aftermarket steering wheel. The rest of the interior is usable, clean and looks OK, but it needs new door panels and carpet to be a done car. Windows all work right and the glass is all in good shape.

Find a used brake drum or buy a new pair and fix the brakes, put front seats in it and you are driving in style.

This is the fastest and cheapest way to be up and going in a classic GM A body car for the summer.

These pictures were all taken when I brought the car home and before I swaped out the engine. That's why the hood is popped in all the pictures. It is a clean nice looking car.

$3,000 takes her home. I have a good clean title in my name in hand.

I sometimes have trouble trying to reply to craigslist email so if you include your email or phone number I will be able to get ahold of you. If you don't include it and you don't hear from me, that's probably why.

Please google where Raymond is. We can both save some time of you just type Raymond Washington into your favorite search engine.

I have a good set of core front buckts, but they are spoken for to go into another project so you better want them pretty bad if you think you would like to buy those also. I would rather not sell the seats.
