Well Gngeorge, sorry you didn't get the ornament. But you could look at it this way; I think a 65 looks better without the hood ornament, or if you would have bid $2.50 more the winner might have bid higher, you will never know.

I have gotten to the point that I bid as much as I can afford for a part at the beginning, and if I miss, such is life. I have noticed that it kind of psychs out the opposition if every time they bid your bid is instantly higher. Of course with an ultra rare NOS part it is impossible to predict the outcome, especially with snipers out there.

rear tail light emblem, Wow went for $611.00. That was the first N.O.S. i've seen since the early 70's.

I thought maybe $400, even $500 at the outside. The final price surprised me I guess.
There can't be many of those out there. I wonder who the hi bidder was?

I could have bought one of those 2 years ago from a guy at the Charlotte autofair for $200, but it was the last day when I saw it and I was out of $$$.  It was NOS and still in the box.  I felt pretty stupid later for not finding some cash and getting it.

How does that go?  "A day late, a dollar short"? Well sometimes, anyway.
Brian, I just  did the same thing last week at the first swap here in Lincoln. Came across a rather unusual piece of '65 literature . Have never seen it before , neither has gs sizzler. I failed to get back to the vendor. Well I did manage to to get in contact with them and purchased it today. Have it on the way. :icon_biggrin:
