Dash Pad
« on: May 22, 2020, 10:33:50 PM »
This evening, I received my second dash pad from Alannah at Dash Pad Factory, and it is beautiful.

I have now received two absolutely gorgeous dash pads from this company for less than the cost of one reconditioned piece from Just Dashes. That's the good news.

The challenging part is that I felt like I needed to stay on them in order to get my dash pads back, largely because of all of the negative feedback that I have read on this website and on others (there are a bunch of posts on this topic on a bunch of Mopar websites).

The process was a little slow, but not worse than you might expect from a company that does specialized work like this. The first pad for my convertible took about 3 months, but Alannah said that the delay was the result of his having to find clips to replace mine that were too rusty to save.

Sure enough, the pad showed up with some new clips that allowed me to bolt the piece right in to the car with no drama. He didn't even charge me for the clips!

The downside is that I had to email a bunch of times to keep up with the status of the pad. Seems like a few guys were concerned that they were losing their cores/getting ripped off, but the impression I got was just that we are dealing with a company that needs a little better organization.

I admit that i was concerned a time or two about getting screwed, because Alannah charges up-front and he doesn't return emails like he should. Sometimes I would copy & paste the same email 2 or 3 days in a row in order to get a response. Allanah always responded, although sometimes it caused a little anxiety while I waited!

My last tale has to do with the shipping of the second pad. They scanned it "shipped", but it sat around the shop for a few days before UPS actually picked it up. I had to emaii (again) to ask where my stuff was. After 3 days, I never got a returned email, but my stuff suddenly became trackable,

Short story: these guys do great work, just don't expect any communication. The price made it worthwhile to me.

Would you be referring to Alan Foxx of El Paso TX? Loren set up a group purchase a few years ago with him. While it did take longer than expected, the pads did come out nice!
