Thanks for posting Chuck, very interesting.  Be sure to check out Buick fun facts 76 and 77 they address option V2, note the color of the brake drum behind the rally wheel.

I noticed that Kevin and don't know what to make of it.  It's not definitive for the 14x6 chrome wheels, as that picture is of the 15x7 which had a black center.  Still wish I knew what Buick Spec 345 was!! 

If I accept that the drum color behind that wheel is correct, then it appears to be a light gray or silver.  Very helpful that it's a black and white picture...

I have a bit of time to decide, so I'll keep pondering....
