Modified Class at BCA Nationals
« on: May 14, 2010, 02:11:37 PM »
I was planning on entering my car in the Modified Class at the BCA Nationals in Ames. Then the latest issue of the Buick Bugle came out with an article on the Modified Class and after reading it I felt that the car would not qualify for the Modified Class. The car has had power disc brakes with a dual master cylinder added, plus 17" wheels and tires and some bling under the hood. Otherwise it is stock. I emailed the author to get his opinion and his reply was "if you are interested in receiving an award, I would suggest the 400 point judging, you will loose points for the wheels and tires, disc brakes and the master cyl, plus the air cleaner, you may get a bronze.  If you entered in modified mild, you may not receive an award due to the lack of changes as we judge only the changes made to the car and give points based on workmanship etc."
Just wanted to let everyone know about the standards for the Modified Class. Article attached.
