some odds and ends
« on: April 05, 2019, 04:18:30 PM »
Diving in head first into murky water is not a good thing; I was playing with the core support today and found the two bolts with nuts and washers, but only 1/2 of the bushings. I dont know if they are uppers or lowers. Looking for a decent used set or directions to a new set. Everything that Ive looked at says "Doesnt fit..."  Also looking for a throttle rod for an AFB. Need the ball off the carb as well. Any new stuff available???  Bill

Bill,

I had done the 455 install into one of my Skylarks a long time ago. I used the cable and the accelerator set up from the Electra that I got the engine and transmission from. I realize you didn't have a donor car, maybe you can come up with something that way out of a salvage yard.  Just a thought .

Yeah... I've been shopping around for that stuff. It used to get tossed out, and now? Its usually lost LOL... For right now I can fab a rod. This thing is a hybrid now. A cross between a 1974 motor, 1976 trans and the 1964 special. I get some ideas from street rod builds. just have to be a chameleon, and ADAPT!   Bill
