Dear mid-60s Buick owners who keep an eye on the seasons,
Hard to believe the summer has gone by so quickly but today is the astronomical start of Autumn - the equinox. For some of you, it is time to starting planning on putting your classic away for her long winter's hibernation. Still most of us will be able to squeeze in a few more drives before the bad weather sets in. So to encourage everyone to not forget your camera on those last drives of the season I have a bit of inspiration. The first example was taken a few years back:

Alas this station has been sold and it isn't clear if the historic Flying A brand will be retained. The brand has a long history as described on this Wikipedia article:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidewater_PetroleumTidewater Petroleum created the Flying A brand in 1932 so it is a very historic chain of gas stations. The Flying A logo disappeared in the western United States in 1966 and in the east in 1970, before being revived after 2000. So it makes for a very nostalgic photo - suitable for digital aging.
The other photo is more astronomical in nature. Our garage faces due east, so around the equinox our cars almost line up with the rising sun. I've always had a fascination with ancient moments with astronomical alignments, so I couldn't resist trying to capture this scene:

Perhaps it is a stretch to call it
"wagon-hedge," but it is definitely another way to capture a classic car in the season. I hope that's some inspiration to look for some
"out of the box" ways to photograph your classic!
Like it or not Autumn is here so get out and drive your classic while you still can!
Cheers, Edouard
