I can't find the finished engine pics but this is the look for my 65 Gran Sport.  66 air cleaner and chrome valve covers to dress this one.

I love it, just substitute a chrome dual quad air cleaner and you'll have what my idea of perfection is and my ultimate goal.  looks like I will have to send a set of valve covers out to be chromed.

Dear Ted, Bob, and mid-60s Buick owners who are fussy about the "vitamins and minerals" their engines get.

. . . . . Not bad, but sorry to see that this engine is suffering from a mineral deficiency . . . . . not enough chrome!!!!   :sunny: . . . .

managed to locate and buy a correct front carb, a reproduction progressive linkage and a factory kickdown bracket. had the rear carb correctly cloned, both carbs rebuilt and I located a set of chrome 66 valve covers. this dual quad nailhead stuff sure isnt cheap.  :tard:

Looks great. I was able to locate a few sets of chrome valve covers too, they look good on the nailheads!

Bob,

Use tandem not progressive linkage.

The intakes do not flow well to the front cylinders of only fed from the rear carb. It will run lean up front, and you likely will be too rich at idle in the rear.

The velocity is high enough that the engine will not "over carb" even if you stick your foot all the way up the nailhead's butt from off idle.

The tandem is much easier to set and adjust, too.

:)
