Northeast get together
« on: May 11, 2018, 09:07:13 PM »
For what i read so far everyone had a great time at last weeks get together in the mid west, even the cakes looked great, but i could not be there since I'm on the Atlantic side and it was my boys (triplets) Birthday last weekend and the new Avengers movie took precedence over anything & everything.. This past week i ran an idea past Loren and he said try it !
Would any of you in the North East want to get together ?
Plan "A" was to meet on Long Island at the Long Island Chapter BCA all Buick Show on May 27Th. But then I know that most non New Yorker's  don't want to drive thru NYC on a holiday weekend.
Plan "B" would be to meet in Macungie PA for the big Macungie Show weekend August 3,4&5. Its a great show with plenty of food, automotive flea market & live music. This will be my 5Th year at the show. You have to preregister for this show, there is NO day of show registration !! You can google Macungie car show and download the registration form for an individual day or all three. I arrive Friday afternoon and leave Sunday after lunch.
Plan "C" is to meet at the Free Spirit Chapter BCA Regional meet September 20,21,22 in Lehighton, PA. You also must register for this show. I don't know if they will be accepting  day of show registrations. Contact the Free Spirit Chapter BCA for further information.
We can meet at one show or all three. Let me know what your thoughts are on this subject. Unless something happens with the family I will be at all three shows this season.

I find it hard to believe Tony is the only '65 Buick guy on the east side. There must be someone else interested in meeting other '64 to '66 Buick enthusiasts.

Something great could start with nothing more then a few folks getting together at a local show for refreshments and some car talk.

The Long Island BCA show was always a great show. I was a regular attendee back in the 90's when I lived in NJ. Now living on the West side of Cleveland the show is not one on my radar anymore. I kinda miss that show, there were usually some very nice cars there.

Jerry, Thanks for the kind words about the Long Island Chapter all Buick show. We had our 39th show today, it was the rain date due to washout on memorial weekend.. we had a great turnout for a rain date, we had 85+ Buick's from the tri state area.. Fellow member Bob brought out his Turquoise 65 GS and i met a young guy with a 65 Skylark that was very interested in joining our group so i gave him my club card and told him to call me so we can talk Buick, he has a nice Skylark that he's been working on. He updated to disc brakes and is working on the 300 motor. i was interested in the Buick because it was a local Buick that was purchased at the same dealership that my Special came from and my Father was a Tech there for 30+years, so it brings back a lot of memories.
I try to reach out to everyone i meet with our type of Buick, so maybe in a few more years we can get enough of us together to have our own get together or meet at one of the local Buick/multi make shows.
I started getting the ROA members in my area together back in the 90s and now its one of the largest classes at our show and other Buick shows, and we all know each other and have a great time when we meet.  i sold my 69 Riviera in 2002, but im still a member because of all the great friends that i have made thru the years. And maybe one day if the right 64 comes along it will find a new home in my driveway.
My offer still stands as per my post on May 11th, so if any Registry members want to meet up just reply to my post or i will see you there.....
