Put my car on Ebay
« on: April 26, 2018, 09:43:13 AM »
https://www.ebay.com/itm/192518109425?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

I had this on Craigslist for about 30 days and no action, so I decided I would give ebay a try. Listed it as just the body and frame. Hoping to sell the other remaining parts separately. Not sure if this is the best way to go; I just do not have what it takes to get this car finished. I got in over my head on this one.

I have just about all the parts to complete the car, less the front seat, it was too far gone to be salvaged. I guess I should have offered the car up for sale here first, but it seems most of the people on this site are looking for cars in much better condition.

Do you guys think $900 for the following is reasonable?
frame
body
front fenders
front wheel wells
radiator support
doors
hood
deck lid
rear seat
driveshaft

If I was to sell everything I have for this car, I would like to get $2800 - is that asking too much?

Thanks for your input.

-George

Dear George and mid-60s Buick caregivers who get over their heads from time to time,

I just do not have what it takes to get this car finished. I got in over my head on this one.

Sorry that this is how your effort ended.  You certainly put in a valiant effort on this car and it was nice to have you on this forum.  May it still have been a useful learning experience and that perhaps someday you'll find another Buick that you can realistically make your own.

Cheers, Edouard

I know the feeling....takes a lot of elbow grease and sometimes you got to rethink it. If you are seriously selling it and had enough, I would post pics of everything on the ad and put a price using the best offer option(cheap advertisement and you are not bound to any terms until you accept them). You are not out of line on the $900,but it may be easier to sell as a package. That body shell is interesting because it is in very good condition under the windshield and wheelhouse areas. I have seen many rusted out worse in those spots. The rear tail and gutter area is a very common problem and patch panels have not been reproduced. If you are just trying to recoupe as much as possible you may consider selling the bare frame separately. I blasted and painted one and it sold for $1500 the same week(same as GTO).Good luck with whatever decision you make.
