But, but, but, . . . . I thought these were Opels? (Re: 2018 GS)

Dear Keith and Buick faithful beyond the mid-60s,

This looks pretty neat.

Next daily driver????

Agreed it is a slick car, although I like the new wagon better for styling (imagine that!  :laughing7: )  Still I understood that the Buick Regals were actually rebranded Opels.  GM just sold their stake in Opel!  So what's going to happen?  Are these cars going to be built in the USofA or what? . . . . . . .   :icon_scratch:

A curious mind would like to know!

Cheers, Edouard

Nicely done. I like the front, back, and interior, but the side view isn't anything special. Still looks like a jelly bean!
IMO, the Impala side view has much more of a muscle car look.
The GS model is up on the Buick.com website. But the Avista concept is no longer there. That's the one I'm lusting after!

Curious to see how the Regal hatchback and station wagons sell.

I agree with you, Edouard.....a GS wagon with a 6 speed manual for the mid $30s could be the car that gets me into a Buick showroom.

As far as the relationship between Opel and GM, yes GM sold them to Peugeot/Citroen.  However, from what I've been reading, the relationship to sell re-badged Opels in the US as Buicks remains. But, likely will be the last......the next versions will probably end up coming from China, unfortunately.

China is my understanding also.  Kind of makes sense since the goodly portion of production is sold in China.

Buick was the first of the GM brands introduced and produced in China and is probably the most popular brand in the Chinese passenger car market.  Not sure what GM's long term strategy is for Chinese production, but it would be no surprise to see Chinese imports here in the near future.

To paraphrase an Oldsmobile slogan - "This is not your father's General Motors!"

If I had to buy a 4 door it would be a high HP Charger.

Had a R/T Charger as a rental car a few weeks ago. That thing sounded glorious, and would rip off the best "11'ses" of any car I've driven in a while. Interior was a bit of a let down though.
